My sewing space

To try and make my sewing easier and enjoyable, I’ve worked really hard to have a nice space dedicated to my sewing.  Now, it’s certainly not the only place I have sewing things, or that I do all my sewing at it, but it is where I do all my actual sewing (not cutting, etc.), and I’ve been very happy with it so far.  The desk is actually a vintage sewing desk, given to my by my Aunt Margaret.  It actually houses a machine underneath (JC Penney zig zag machine model 6801) that currently is missing its foot pedal.  I’m on the lookout for a reasonably priced one, and once I get it, I’ll be able to see if the machine is fully functioning).  The machine I actually use is a really nice Kenmore model, that does some embroidery stitches.  I still use my old Brother, just not as often.

Also, as they seem to keep popping up in my sewing pictures, my cat’s name is Polly, and my dog’s name is Oscar.

Welcome to my sewing blog.

Welcome to my sewing blog, where I tattle, rant, and rave about my wonderful adventures in sewing.  Hopefully this will not only be cathartic for me, but helpful for other sewers out there.  At the very least, there should be some pretty pictures to look at.

I am currently working on projects from a new book I bought, Weekend Sewing, by Heather Ross.
